Jack Maguire was awarded the A.R.A.M in 1982.

He has been a violin teacher at Sherborne School, Leweston School, Southampton University, and a consultant for the Dorset Youth Orchestra. He now teaches at Brockenhurst College.

He directs the Coda Fiddle Ochestra, a community group of violinists of all ages and standards who meet to rehearse and perform folk and gypsy music. The Honorary Patron is Nigel Kennedy. Children are means tested for free tuition and CFO is now one of the Mayor of Bournemouth's charities. Jack is a member of Bournemouth Rotary which supports CFO.

 He also travels to the West country to coach the Exeter Music Group, resident at Exeter University.

Jack and his colleagues in Stromenti have coached members of the DYO, Wessex Youth Orchestra and Bournemouth Youth Orchestra, who put together a performance of Vaughan Williams Tallis Fantasia in only one day, at Wimborne Minster.
